In Ireland, Picture This are superstars. Their debut single, “Take My Hand,” is a veritable anthem, and they became the first band ever to sell out five successive nights at Dublin’s 3Arena, the city’s equivalent of London’s O2. In 2025, their Home for Summer and Home for Christmas tours saw more than 100,000 tickets sold, with multiple arena shows selling out in under an hour.

It all began in 2015, when a young Ryan Hennessy from the small town of Athy, County Kildare, recorded a video of his song “Take My Hand” on his iPhone. The video was uploaded to Facebook and YouTube and amassed more than four million views across all platforms. After receiving a message from fellow Athy musician and drummer Jimmy Rainsford, saying they had to play together, a journey began that led to the band’s debut sell out gig at The Grand Social in Dublin.

The past three years have marked a new international chapter for the band. A Top5 airplay hit in Switzerland with the infectious “Get on my love”, a Top10 on German radio with “Somewhere close to heaven” that saw the band duet with fellow Irish star Rea Garvey. Sold out tours from Continental Europe to Australia where the band will return for their third tour in 18 months in March supporting The Script.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of their breakthrough single, “Take My Hand,” one of Ireland’s most requested first-dance songs. To celebrate the milestone, the band launched one of their most ambitious fan campaigns yet. After receiving more than 12,000 submissions, Picture This surprised five couples across Ireland by arriving unannounced at their weddings to perform “Take My Hand” live for their first dance, creating a series of unforgettable moments that captured the heart of the nation.
