Antoni Komasa

Antoni Komasa is a composer of music for film, television and theatre, based in Berlin. He grew up in a filmmaking community in Warsaw, and started to compose music for film and television at a very young age. He studied composition at the Music Academy in Cracow.

His cooperation with Agnieszka Holland on her film "Julie Walking Home" brought him to work with the young German filmmaker Hans Steinbichler. He worked with him on his debut film, "Hierankl", which gained acclaim in Germany and in the international festival circuit.

Since then, he composed music for several international film projects. With the music for "In Darkness" he got Academy Award nominated and the HBO mini-series "Burning Bush" brought him the 2014 Czech Lion Award. Furthermore he contributed the scores for the Lions Gate production of "Rosemary's Baby" for NBC Television. The film "Warsaw 44" by Jan Komasa with his score, gained over 1 million viewers in just two weeks.

Over the course of his career, he has recorded his compositions with some of the best ensembles in Europe, including the London Symphony Orchestra and Choir, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Warsaw Radio Orchestra and Sinfonietta Cracovia.
